Andrei Zhiltsov, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Isfahan, recently visited Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) to gain insight into its capabilities, facilities, and the innovative work of its resident knowledge-based and technology companies. During the visit, Mr. Zhiltsov conveyed the strong interest of Russian companies in establishing bilateral collaborations with entities based at ISTT.
The visit aimed to familiarize the Consul General with the potential and resources available within ISTT. An overview of the advantages and support mechanisms ISTT offers to its companies was presented by ISTT representatives, while elaborating on the possible international cooperation models and the availability of tax exemptions for knowledge-based firms. The primary focus at ISTT is on advancing knowledge and commercialization, particularly in key sectors such as steel, oil, gas, petrochemicals, renewable energy, water management, food security, agriculture, ICT, artificial intelligence, and the creative and cultural industries. ISTT representatives expressed ISTT readiness to welcome international companies looking to engage with the Iranian market. They further elaborated on the potentials of the UNESCO Regional Center for Science Park and Incubator Development (IRIS).
Concluding his visit, Consul General Zhiltsov toured several resident companies within ISTT, observing their capabilities firsthand. He expressed a positive assessment of the companies' potential and reiterated the strong desire from Russian enterprises to forge cooperative partnerships with ISTT-based firms.
